Case: Three-body, polished and brushed, curved lugs, screw down case back and crown, Twin lock winding-crown protected by crown guard, bidirectional revolving graduated 24-hour red and blue bezel for the second time zone, red side of bezel has taken an deep pink patina, blue is washed at edge. Crystal with cyclops lens. Case is thick with sharp edge. Case back stamped 1967.
Dial: Black with luminous round, baton and triangular indexes, exclamation at 6, outer minutes/ seconds track, aperture for the date with cyclops lens. Luminous steel skeleton hands. "Long E" dial.
Movement. Cal. 1570, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating freesprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws.
Condition: Dial is crisp with markers turning a light yellow with no stains. Case is thick with original polishing details. Rolex US stamped Jubilée with some stretch. Watch's timing is within COSC.

Rolex introduced the GMT-Master in 1954 with the ref. 6542. It was developed for Pan-Am pilots, to display multiple timezones as the airline operated more transatlantic flights. The ref. 6542 ran for five years, when the ref. 1675 was introduced.
The ref. 1675, available in stainless steel or 18k gold (and a combination stainless steel and gold, called Rolesor), was the first GMT model to feature hacking-seconds, introduced in 1971. While earlier versions of the ref. 1675 had a smaller GMT hand, the hand became larger in the late 1970s. Rolex ceased production of the ref. 1675 in the 1980s, in favor of the current ref. 16750.
The present watch dates from the last decade of production of the ref. 1675, and features the iconic blue and red "Pepsi" bezel which has made the GMT-Master an immensely popular model of vintage Rolex.
