The Orchid House ~
In a quiet clearing, where the meadow grasses yield only to a cooling autumn wind or the migrations of forest life - sits an even quieter abode.
The home of our dear hermit, Dawcus.
Preferring the company of his many orchids and exotic plants, the mostly misunderstood Dawcus has lived the solitary life for more than two-thirds of his 67 years.
And when he isn't brewing tea, drinking tea or contemplating life's little intricaties - he can be found out in an old orangery, now an orchid house - tending to his first love.
It was only a short while ago - thanks to the ceaseless efforts of a nosy albeit well intentioned neighbor - that the rest of Cloven got to enjoy the fruits of Dawcus' horticultural labours.
So on the third Sunday of each month, the otherwise reclusive Dawcus, opens the orchid house for all to appreciate.
He, however, keeps a comfortable distance, slightly anxious with undeniable orchidelirium ... not to mention the thought of all those strangers wandering about ...
He manages to pass his third Sundays with a few pots of tea, some lavender biscuits and a good book about, what else, orchids.
